Tale
The documentary, which is a two-hour window into the heart of Hayao Miyazaki’s creative process, tells the story of six long years of work during the creation of “The Boy and the Heron”, the last film of the master of Japanese animation. It was a very touching and funny documentary. Kaku Arakawa closely follows the creative process of Hayao Miyazaki during the creation of “The Boy and the Heron”. It combines scenes from Miyazaki’s films, real people who participated in the making of the film, and people who were important to Miyazaki very well. I saw this film at the International Film Festival in Helsinki “Love and Anarchy”. At some moments, the audience laughed loudly, and at other moments, people wiped their eyes from laughter. I hope that Miyazaki will be able to make more films. I can’t help but recommend this documentary to any Ghibli fan.
